Adam and Eve Were Vegaterians

DON"T FREAK OUT ON ME! I am not telling anyone they have to be vegetarian. I am not making some twisted point, just interesting facts.

Adam and Eve Genesis 1: 29 "I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.

After the flood God tells Noah, he can eat meat Genesis 9:3 " Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you." Also interesting that shortly after this is when men only live to be a little past 100. I am not stating that is the reason. God said he wanted it this way. It is just interesting they coincide.

Later in the New Testament we look at the prophet Daniel.
Daniel 1 : 4 (Those that served the king were) "youths in whom was no defect, who were good looking, showing intelligence in every branch of wisdom , endowed with understanding and discerning knowledge and who had ability for serving in the kings court."

It only seems a little interesting that Daniel had the right to eat meat , but he choose not to at this time.
" test us for ten days, and let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be observed in your presence and the appearance of the youths who are eating the king's choice food; and deal with your servants according to what you see." Wow Daniel was a wise youth.

The way we eat is a matter of wisdom, not salvation. Our finances, marriages, relationships, health all reflect on the wisdom we are using. Health is not just genetics. We eat way to much meat and processed food. Eating pasta, white rice, white bread, and potatoes spike your blood sugar faster than pouring raw sugar on your tongue. I also feel many diseases can be directly linked to your amount of meat consumption or your lack of vegetable or fruit consumption.

Wisdom is calling out to us and we can choose to seek her, or ignore her, but there are consequences attached to our decision.

I am not saying it is our fault we get sick....... I am saying we are responsible for the choices we make with our diet, and our diet directly affects our health.

Lets listen to wisdom....and be responsible.

It's fun when we have to say things like "no more veggies until you finish your bread". Our kids love vegetables and it makes me so proud and happy.
It's nice to feel like we have control over our lives though the government isn't necessarily for our best interest we can still help ourselves and those around us.
Our friends Kaylin and Stephen Booker in Lubbock are also vegetarians. I bet they would love to meet you guys and are SOO SWEET with kids. I'll tell them about you guys.
Love you,
Kristi

One of these does not fit in the wisdom box of a Christian. Can you pick it out?

WDSD (What Did Soloman Do)
WDJD (What Did Jesus Do)
WWYD (What would You Do)
WDWS (What Does the Word Say)
WDHS (What Does Holy Spirit Say)

Unless you are 555 years old and can explain why Jesus and Soloman were not Vegitarians.

Please do not quote scripture unless you know 'for sure' its meaning. This is not a good practice for a Christian to get into and WE ALL DO IT.

I obviously disagree with you 'in love' on many accounts as one who has similar spiritual and health concearns. I believe if you seriously studied the Word you would see clearly the error in this asumption. I also believe the same is true in health matters.

I am not freaking out, but I am concearned about YOUR conclusion.

Please with love,
Concerned Christian

Kristi… I would love to meet them. We have been talking about a maybe trip to Colorado this summer. Are you guys making any plan to go this summer?

Anonymous… First of all, I would like to apologize to you. I do not have a gift at writing, and I do not always make myself clear. I have NEVER advised anyone to be a vegetarian. However, the fact that you are concerned is a good thing. At least you are thinking about it. I wish I could not think about it. I wish I could go on eating like I always have, but the spirit has convicted me. And it is possible that this conviction is for me alone. I wish I could take you on the journey that has brought me to where I am, we all have our own journeys, and we are all part of the body for a reason.

Here is my question to you, What would Jesus say to a nation that is plagued with
Degenerative diseases (cancer, heart disease, alzheimer’s, strokes, arthritis, diabetes etc.etc.)? Now suppose you found out that many cases if not most were related to nutrition, or lack of. We are a people consumed with getting enough protein (meat) yet we don’t get nutrients (fruits and vegetables). Wow that ring alarms of the Israelites grumbling for meat. And I do realize I am stretching this a little far.

I advise people to eat more fruits and vegetables, and drink water. Did you know there are many people that do not drink water. I have cared for them in the hospital. They are miserable and ill and wanting to know why. However, their only liquid consumption is ..... “Dr Pepper and coffee”. Their diets are of similar value and they seeking an answer for "Why do I feel so bad". What do you think? What would Solomon say? What would Jesus say? What does the Holy Spirit say? What does the word say? What does control us? Is our god our appetite? I also want to take this moment and say, you cannot judge this from the outside. The people that I have taken care of with the worst diets were often really thin. In this country that gets some....cool points. This is an issue we all deal with personally.

I really don't have an answer. I do not want to change anyone; I want to make people think. This IS NOT A SALVATION ISSUE. My question is "is it a spiritual issue?" I really wonder does "tend and watch over the garden" (now that goes into environmental issues) still apply to us? In my daily bible the Israelites just made it through the wondering grumbling time. And are we not worse?...Our coffee, our chocolate, our sugar fix(and this is just me). I feel a little fear, because I felt bad for the Israelites. I mean really... manna? Could I really do manna? So maybe this blog is just a journey for myself.

My Dear Niece, you responded very eloquently to the "concerned christian" who must not believe enough in what they write to even add their name. Thank God we live in The United States of America where we can say and write what our thoughts and beliefs are!!

I don't know why I stumbled on to this blog but I'm glad I did. There is a reason here somewhere. You are your Daddy's Daughter! And your Heavenly Fathers!

Blog on My Dear, Blog on!
Love ya

I loved being a vegetarian. I definately had more fun cooking & eating during those two years than I have at any other time in my life. I started eating meat again after I got married though, because I didn't think it was fair for me to make Chad give up meat just because I prefer to go veggie. But he is starting to come round. :)

I love you my friend, and I am learning much through your journey.

I am not quite sure why you would be encouraged not to quote scripture, for any reason. It is God breathed, after all. Nowhere did I see you put your own spin after any of those citations. After each one you simply said it was interesting. I find those things interesting as well. If there's something wrong with that, then we're all out of luck.

I love your zeal, your quest for knowledge, and appreciate you sharing it. I particularly appreciate the way you do it openly and without condescention!

My granddad always said if you need to say something, you better be able to sign your name to it. I respect that!

I love you, dear one!

Cynthia WOW never thought I would see you here. Thank you for the encouragement. I hope the daddy's daughter comment is a good thing. Brothers and sisters are an amazing thing, and fathers are often our biggest heroes. I still miss him.

Su I forgot you were a vegetarian. I do understand about the husband thing. Jeff could, but I think he does better with meat. I do respect his discipline though. He is well balanced.

Pistolera I miss the fish, but I miss you guys more. With all your research you know that natural things that grow have health value, and if people want to spend 30 dollars on a bottle of Noni juice from Tahiti(this is a real thing...I just like that it has my daughter's nick name) that is better than a coke, but there is something to be said for eating the veggies and fruits that are in season where you are. And Chilies with your fruit? It could grow on me, but I am glad it didn't. By the way do you have super iguana strength yet? :)

Sarah Thank you for you love for me. I know I have been wrong before. We could all do with some paradigm shifting. I feel I am more seeking wisdom in health than preaching it. Like I said to you before, health is not about titles. Nurses, doctors, vegetarian. I know many nurses and doctors and most are not healthy, and many "vegetarians" by name don't even eat many vegetables. You can stop eating meat and double your portion of sugar, carbs, and processed food. A name we call ourself does not make us healthy physically or spiritually. It is much deeper than that. I thank God for the blood of Jesus. We are daughters of the King, the Creator, the Holy One. I want to be transformed from the inside out. This is our journey. I am so glad I know you.
Amy
